Hi,
I am looking for opinions and advice as to whether I should change my flight to give me more time at BKK.
I am flying with Bangkok Air from Ko Samui (USM), arriving at 10:35. Later, I shall fly EVA Air to London Heathrow at 12:50. I am wondering can I connect straight through at BKK, or will I need to exit immigration and check-in again. If so do I have enough time? (I have 2 hour 15 from landing to take off again)
Thanks!

Your flight from Ko Samui is a domestic flight so you won't go through immigration before boarding there. You'll arrive at BKK on level two on the domestic side and, once you've collected any baggage, you'll need to go up to level four and the international departures side to drop off your baggage at EVA. If you check in with EVA on-line before departing from Ko Samui, you won't need to drop off your baggage until around 11:30 but then you'll have to get through security and immigration pretty quickly. If you don't have any check-in baggage at all, your transfer time will be much faster.
If you don't check in on-line, it'll be tight but you should still be able to manage it. The problem occurs if your flight from Koh Samui lands late.
Good luck!

My return flights home are not cheap! I don't take any chances with last minute connecting flights being late or even totally cancelled because of weather. For my departure from Bangkok I spend the last night in Bangkok. This way getting to the airport is a simple meter taxi ride or cheap train ride. (Shop in Bangkok, take in some meals, explore a little bit and have plenty of time to make the departure flight at your leisure.)
For me, Bangkok can be cheaper than Ko Samui too.
For my departures I am at the airport 2 hours before check-in.
Your choice.
