Hello!
I was looking for the cheapest transport options to go from London to Edinburgh (or the other way around, since I'm not sure yet which our trip starting point is going to be). I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of info on the net and the large number of train companies and prices. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Coach (long-distance bus) is cheapest but takes longest. It's safe and adequately comfortable. There are two reputable companies running the route:

https://www.nationalexpress.com/en

https://uk.megabus.com/

Train is almost always more expensive than coach but it's faster. Buying tickets in advance (online or at the station) will get better fares. Look at the official UK railway website for all train times (regardless of operator) and fares:

https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

If you're starting from Scotland you can also look at the official Scottish railway website (which wll give you pretty much the same info as the nationalrail site):

https://www.scotrail.co.uk/

Once you've decided what date/time/direction you can check with that specific train operator's website to see if they have any special offers though, in my experience, the nationalrail site is pretty good at showing all available fares for a specific train.
