Trying to work out the best time to hire my car. Vancouver airport. Have decided on Avis. Not going til September. When we sorted the routes etc in Feb a full size suv was around £1300. On the site now it's less than £1100. Is it right to commit niw or will prices continue to tumble??
Thanks

Really nobody can answer your question. We would have to have a crystal ball for this. Car-rental-prices go up and down, like airfares.

OK, as I thought then, just pot luck!!!
I have found that car hire rates in the US are related to perceived demand. When there is more demand, the prices are higher. And also sometimes on the place where you hire/rent from. It isn't random.
When you get your car from the airport, the price is usually higher because the airport offices are open more hours and they pay a premium for the real estate.
It will be more expensive at holiday time - so during Christmas and New Years - very expensive. In February we have President's Day holiday in the USA, and things are also more expensive during Spring Break which is roughly around Easter. And summer is when kids are out of school. Off season is cheaper.
I could tell you when to rent a car in Florida but I don't know about Vancouver so I'd say go ahead and take the price now.
