Hi.

Barcelona, for me, was not as expensive as Paris and London.

I found it easy to get around. There were previous posts on this city before, a forum and Google type search might be helpful. Perhaps you can find something that meets your requirements in the post below:

Perhaps while cruising the "La Rambla" you will find a suitable place to eat at and even have a few drinks. ( I eat kind of simple and cheap! ) I liked the the chocolate churros with coffee. Also Rotisserie Chicken. (Some displays in restaurant windows. You won't starve in this city unless you sew your lips together!)

Do a search for restaurants convenient to your hotel and preference. Your hotel can advise you too.

  • Google search with a laptop will show you several museums, maybe a zoo too! And lots of cheap information.

Good luck.

Have a look at our Barcelona hub page .

It lists the top sights (based on how often they are blogged about on here), some featured blog posts and various information that might get you started.

Been a long time since I personally visited Barcelona so can't help much with specific places to eat etc. I'm sure you'll have a great time though!

You need to make a reservation for the Sagrada Familia. I went in 2019

This is my 18 year old granddaughter's account of the same day which I think you will find entertaining. https://ameliaisliterate.home.blog/2019/07/06/trip-report-day-29-oh-my-gaudi/ And if you click on Next at the end of her account you will get to her visit to Montserrat (I didn't go with her)

My daughter visited one of Gaudi's apartments and she thought it worthwhile. Whether you would want to visit any of the art museums depends on how interested you are in that artist.

In 2008 I went to Barcelona with my 14 year old grandson. We did the hop-on-hop-off bus and went to the aquarium which is supposed to be one of the largest in Europe. I enjoyed it, but unless you are interested particularly in aquariums I don't think it is something that you must see. My grandson's father (my son-in-law) is very into aquariums so that's why we went. Our whole 3 day visit to Barcelona and boarding the ship is here if you want to see it - there are a lot of photos and it might give you an idea of what you might want to see. https://grandmarmed.travellerspoint.com/6/
