King Penguins of Volunteer Point, Falkland Islands

In 2015, I had the opportunity to visit South Georgia and photograph these beautiful animals. There are approximately 450,000 pairs of king penguins in South Georgia, which account for about half of the world's population.

Puerto Natales, Patagonia

On the first full day I did a 270 km circular drive through Torres del Paine National Park. Even before entering the park the views of the snow covered peaks were amazing.

Dodging Rain Drops on Lake Como

My plan for the day was a ferry ride on Lake Como to Bellagio, but first I had to drop off my laundry. I dodged the puddles while juggling my plastic bag full dirty clothes and my umbrella.

Fernando de Noronha

Luckily scuba diving is not greatly affected by rain and I did 4 dives over the first two days with Águas Claras Dive Centre, departing from the port close to my “chalet”. The dives were different from what I’m used to, with only a few isolated coral patches and seagrass growing on large volcanic boulders, but luckily with abundant sea life.
